Beloveds III

Salvaged children’s clothing, mending, photo transfer to cloth, weaving, applique, and machine embroidery. January 2025-2026.

Display at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Knoxville Branch

March-June, 2026

Pittsburgh, PA

Each of these pieces of clothing had been worn by our own child. We gave each one a picture of a child who had been murdered in Gaza, and embellished them with cloth and embroidery as a means of memorializing their lives and honoring their memory.

These pieces are communal, collective, and participatory. They are also all ongoing, as they are held, displayed, mended and modified by community members and the context in which they are encountered.
