what memory forgets, the body remembers

what the body forgets, the ground remembers

by what means can the ground forget?

Mourningtown

Mourningtown is a multidisciplinary & multispecies project investigating how repetitive practice in a landscape can transform the experience of grief.

parts of this work look like textiles made with foraged fibers, time-limited performances, experiential installations, nests, objects destined for decomposition, & visual art obsessed with haunting & land history.

on a landscape level, this looks like partnering with soil to build fertility and organic matter, to remediate poisons, to establish beauty, to remove threats, to pursue equilibrium, to make pockets of richness and habitat, to make time visible.
